Terms of use
Last updated 5 October 2026
By using Focus Scout you agree to these terms. Your rights as a consumer under UK law aren't affected.
Forecasts are a guide
Scores, forecasts, tides, sky positions and satellite passes are estimates from models and data that can be wrong or out of date. Use them to plan, then use your own judgement on the day.
Stay safe
You're responsible for your own safety. Check tide times with an official source before going onto beaches, causeways or tidal islands. Keep back from cliff edges, which can collapse. Weather on hills and coasts can change quickly, and dark-sky sites are remote at night: tell someone where you're going.
Access and the countryside
Spot details such as opening times, parking and access can change. Check with the owner before you go. Only go where you're allowed, follow the Countryside Code (and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code in Scotland), and keep your distance from wildlife, especially at nesting and breeding times.
Drones
Drone information is a summary. You must follow the CAA's Drone Code and any local restrictions, including airport Flight Restriction Zones, and you're responsible for having the right IDs.
Focus Scout Pro
Pro is a subscription through Apple. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your Apple ID's subscription settings. A free trial, if offered, turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
What you share
Field notes and spots you share must be your own and lawful, and mustn't encourage trespass or disturbing wildlife. You let us show them to other users of the app. We may remove anything that breaks these terms.

Our responsibility
We work hard to keep the app accurate, but we can't promise it's error-free or always available. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for loss or injury from relying on it. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
